Pillar 1: Secure Intake

The most dangerous moment for digital evidence is the moment it leaves the client's hands and enters yours.

The Digital Contamination Risk

If a client sends you a photo via WhatsApp, the following happens:

  1. WhatsApp compresses the image (losing data).
  2. WhatsApp strips EXIF metadata (GPS coordinates, camera info, original timestamp).
  3. The "Date Created" on your phone becomes the date you received it, not when it was taken.

In court, this allows the opposition to argue that the file has been "processed" and is not the original.

SatyamevHash bypasses insecure channels using Discovery Links.

How it Works

  1. Generate a Link: From your SatyamevHash dashboard, create a secure upload link for a specific case.
  2. Set Expiry: Choose how long the link remains active (e.g., 24 hours).
  3. Client Upload: Your client opens the link in any browser and selects the files.
  4. Direct Hashing: The files are encrypted and hashed during the upload process.

Benefits

  • Lossless: No compression. Every single bit is preserved.
  • Metadata Integrity: The original file metadata remains untouched.
  • Audit Ready: The system logs the IP address and time of the upload automatically.
